Our final day of service was february 18, 2023

After 8 years of Bento Picnic (and 3 years of Saba San’s), we’re taking a sabbatical - to create space for what’s next. To our regulars, there are a thousand of you who have been incredibly loyal to us, and I can’t thank you enough.

I’m thankful for all the support that Austin has shown me over the last 8 years. It has been an incredible story to live. I promise to be in touch and keep you posted about whatever may come next.

PS. During our sabbatical, we’ll still be available for select catering events and private dinner parties. Click here to learn more about our offerings and to make an inquiry.

PSS. Our bungalow on E Cesar Chavez will remain open by reservation to Sushi Bar guests, and I trust that they’ll take good care of the space and everyone coming through.

All good things,
Leanne Valenti

ABOUT

I’m Leanne, the chef owner of Bento Picnic. I love helping people keep the commitments they’ve made to their health without sacrificing any flavor or enjoyment.

I’m a disciple of Washoku, the Japanese tradition of designing complete balanced meals. I’ve found it to be a brilliant framework for making healthy meals that are totally delicious & satisfying. My adherence to Washoku combined with my local sourcing practices make Bento Picnic a truly unique Austin experience.
