My Top 7 Audiobooks of 2024
Anytime I’m in a plane, train, or automobile, I love delving into an audiobook. Thanks to all the traveling I did in 2024, I also got to discover some incredible listens. Upon reflecting on my favorites, I realized that they span a range of topics and genres, but the thing they all have in common is brilliant narration.
Bonus discovery: I also found that listening to an audiobook instead of watching a show while crossing time zones helps me avoid jet lag—another reason to keep my headphones handy on long trips!
P.S. Most of these audiobooks are available for free through library apps like Libby and Hoopla. Follow the links provided below to see where I got each one.
Here are my top 7 audiobooks from 2024:
Trevor Noah — Born A Crime
David Whyte — What to Remember When Waking and Clear Mind, Wild Heart
Jim Dale’s narration of the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
Rick Rubin — The Creative Act
(I also love his podcast, Tetragrammaton)Elizabeth Gilbert — City of Girls
Sadhguru Vasudev — Inner Engineering
Dara Molloy — Reimagining the Divine
(Charlie and I actually got to spend a day with Dara when we visited Inis Mór last year! It was fascinating to learn about the island’s history from a Celtic monk and mystic who has such an intimate relationship with the land.)
